Players.ehm 101

To explain the players.ehm file, I have broken it down into a very simple text format, with all the holes filled. This document will explain how to use each number in this text document to edit things the way you want.

1.The players.ehm file view.

Once you open the document with notepad, it reads like a math problem no one wants to solve, the first assumption most people have is that a players #'s are represented below his name, this is faulse. The players name is actually located near the bottom in the list of numbers you use for that players. Here is an example of a player.

71 85 81 66 80 61 88 77 75 73
58 66 82 55 105 49 2 20 3 2 1

I have used the example of Scott Gomez from a season I have been playing that is in the 2008 season, it does not matter what season you are in, it is the same anyway. Let's break it down.

2.Mapping it out.

The #'s for this file can easiley be made into 20 seperate lines, as such,

1. 71 85 81 66 80 61 88 77 75 73

Once you have each line broken down into numbers, the numbers will become clearer now. Each lines numbers will now be replaced by the text of what each # is, to compare, simply scroll back up and have a look to match your numbers.

4.How do I?

(a.) How do I make a rookie for a draft?

To do this you have to edit a certain # in the file. Once you create your player in either the player editor or by way of text, you must change the value for "rights" to 99 in the players.ehm file, or in the roster set you are using before you begin the game. This player will be added to your draft. You cannot access this player with the player editor once he is entered into your draft, only by way of text, so make sure you get it right the first time!

(b.) How do I make a free agent?

This is the same # as above, but instead of 99, you use 98.

(c.) How do I trade a player with the players.ehm file?

You must change all 3 numbers for a players team, the "rights", "team" and "NHL rights" numbers must all be changed to the team you wish to switch him to. For a list of team values, use this: Team Values This will not help you change a players junior team, this is done by a different method explained later.

(d.) How do I change a players junior team?

Normally I would tell you to simply edit the player before you start the game and switch it. To do it by this method, open the roster set you will be using and go to that player, use Ctrl-F to find his name. Once you have found your player, change his "Rights" number to 98, this will allow you to access this player using the player editor, then change his team, save it and return his "rights" to 99 by the same method above.

Alternately, if you must do it in the game, it is a lot harder. You must know the players ID #, you can learn how to get his number Here if you don't know how to find it.

Once you have found the players ID #, open the statistics.ehm file with notepad, this is a lot harder to understand, but search for your players ID #, Ctrl-F and find him. His ID will usually be the first or last # in a line of 5 #'s. It may look like this:

0 1 0 0 2873

This is player # 2873, he is currently on team # 106, CHARLOTTE CHECKERS.

(e.) How do I add more spaces to create more players in my rosters?

This is a simple proceedure. To add a new space, open your rosters file and note how many players there are in the game, this is the first # in the players file. To add another space, copy and paste the following text to the bottom of your roster set (this is for a roster file before starting a game) Text

Once you have added this text to the bottom of the file, scroll to the top and increase the number of players by 1. Repeat these steps for each space you add. Once this is done, open the rosters in your player editor and edit your new space to the player you want.
